Plantation 3 Stars ($20). The experts’ runaway choice among rums combines brightness with the depth of wood-aging. It’s perfect in a daiquiri or with any splash of citrus.
Olmeca Altos Tequila Plata ($25). Another “wide margin” winner, this tequila makes a great margarita. For a sipping tequila, simply upgrade to the Altos reposado.
Rittenhouse Rye ($24). The unanimous choice for a rye old-fashioned, Rittenhouse has “a pleasing flavor profile” that “balances grain and spice notes.” ■
