A 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Tanzania has killed 10 and injured 100
A 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Tanzania on Saturday left 10 people dead and about 100 injured in the east African country. The quake was only about six miles below the surface, making its effects severe. Local reports show collapsed buildings in the city of Bukoba, near the earthquake's epicenter.
Earlier on Saturday, Peru was hit by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake near the city of Moyobamba. However, that quake occurred about 70 miles underground, muting its effects, and no significant injuries or damage were reported.
