At least 18 people were injured, three seriously, on Friday morning when a van ran into pedestrians outside a Starbucks in central Shanghai, Chinese state-run media reports.
The van swerved onto a busy sidewalk and became engulfed in flames at around 9 a.m. There were six people in the van, which was being used to transport gas tanks. Police say they do not believe this was an act of terrorism, and that the driver was smoking when the incident took place.
