Late Wednesday night, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced on the Senate floor that the White House will send the Senate the results of the FBI inquiry into allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh tonight.

He also filed cloture on Kavanaugh's nomination, setting up a procedural vote. On Twitter, McConnell said, "There will be plenty of time for members to review and be briefed on this supplemental material before a Friday cloture vote." Two Senate officials told The Washington Post there is just one copy of the report that will be available to senators, and they will only get to look at it in a secure room in the Capitol Visitor Center.
